For those of you who remember “Deep Thoughts By Jack Handy” from Saturday Night Live – late 80s, early 90s. Here is my deep thought for the day.
When I’m having one of those “this kind of sucks” moments, a line from Finding Nemo keeps coming to the top of my mind. When Dory and Marlin are tired and lost, Dory says, “Just keep swimming…just keep swimming.” And I don’t just say it in my head; I sing it just like in the movie. For those of you with young kids who have also seen the movie 100 times, you know what I mean. For those of you who haven’t seen it, I can arrange a screening at my place. The ironic thing is that I can’t really swim that well. So as my cousin Tanya pointed out to me, you guys are my water wings to keep me afloat. Thanks.
Just keep swimming,
me

Hello Kim,
Carolyn has informed me of your malignant finding and gave me the link to your blog ... which is such a great medium for personal expression and allowing family and freinds to be a part of your healing.
My heart and best wishes go out to you. I really can't imagine what it must feel like. Although, I do know my cousin Steven is an amazing guy and I know he is providing you with lots of love and support for you and your boys.
I'm 35 weeks pregnant and will be choosing to breastfeed as I've been told it helps reduces chances of having breast cancer later in life. I suppose every little bit helps.
I've read a few of your blogs and you are a very strong girl. I've only met you once at your wedding, although I recall really liking you and you looked so beautiful in your wedding dress. You and Steve are a great couple and your boys are so sweet.
I'm sending you lots of love from the west coast. Looking forward to visiting Ontario ... soon ... and introducing your boys to our new baby!
Love,
Michelle

Hi Kim:
Just look upon all your friends and family as "floatation devices" - although most of us can't be there for you in person - hopefully you can feel us mentally through our thoughts and prayers for you and Steve and the boys. Keep afloat, Kim! Nero did and he went through alot but his friends were swimming right along beside him - encouraging him on when he thought that he had lost his way. That's all of us. Love Helen and George
Hi Kim, just wanted to let you know that everyone in northampton uk is thinking of you, I keep trying to have a quick peep at your diary whilst working, somethings are just more important than work!! The sun is shinning through my office window today and is lovely and warm, I hope the sun is shinning in your part of the world today. x
Hey Kim
As you know, the words "motherinlaw" and "house" have an adverse reaction on, oh, my sanity! I often find myself humming that song "Just Breath" when it all seems a bit overwhelming!!
So, now for a funny. My motherinlaw calls last week - she wants to go to Vaughan Mills shopping mall. I repeat VAUGHAN MILLS SHOPPING MALL!! Now, Kim, you and I are healthy, young (29 forever thank you), and it would take us 8 hours to cover that place. They put leather loungers every ten feet in that place for a reason.
So, Steve calls his brother in TO and says - HELP!! They ended up taking her to Loblaws (big isles, motorized carts, etc) and I still cannot believe they did it.
Hope to see you on Friday!
