Freedom

I’m glad you’re sitting down. I just got the squeeze box removed about 4 hours ago. Holy BLEEP. It felt like I had a 100 foot garden hose ripped out from under my arm. I had to put my head between my knees after the VON took it out for fear of passing out. The good thing is that it’s out and I feel somewhat normal again. My armpit is numb now. The surgeon had said that that would probably happen which is fine, but it just feels weird…like it’s permanently frozen.

Overall the weekend went well. Chris helped me take Sean to swimming lessons yesterday. It was good to get out of the house but I was surprised how exhausted I felt afterwards. I’m looking forward to trying to get out of the house more this week because I’m starting to get cabin fever. With the Olympics over now I’ll be forced to watch daytime television…brutal.

Short and sweet tonight. Thinking of you all,

me

Hi Kim,

Don't knock daytime TV until you have tried it. Sarah and I watch "Leave it to Beaver" at 12:30pm weekdays, absolutely hilarious!! It's on channel 4 in Toronto(Sun TV Channel),weekdays, following "The Flinstones" and is currently in the middle of Season 2, not that I am keeping track or anything.........:)

Keep Smiling,

Mark and the "Fam"

Hi Kim and Steve:

Kim - you were saying in one of your earlier blogs that you are the driver of the bus and we are all your passengers - please let George and I have the 'seniors' rate' on this journey - we want to sit at the back of the bus and just be there for mental support for you all - we are looking forward to being with Mum and Dad Groves shortly. love George and Helen

Hi Kim and Steve Michael and I picked up the email from Carolyn last night and were obviously shocked to hear your news. Please know that Michael and I are thinking about you and praying that all goes well and if there is anything at anytime we can do please do not hestitate to call upon us. Kim good for you for doing your routine self exam I think that will be a major bonus in your recovery. All our Joan and Michael

Kim - Finally we have figured out how to log on! Bob and I are in the public library and I can see that this is going to be a great way to stay in touch besides the phone. Steve told me last night that you had to censor your true reaction to the drain removal ...! Ouch ! No moving furniture for a few days , Kim.

Our love,
Bob & Carolyn

Hi, Grampa Bobo here. I know we have talked several times over the last week or so. Just wanted to let you know that you are constantly in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I have taken to walking the beach ( Carolyn says wandering would be a better word!)every day. I'll tell you about the Rocks in a separate email. I have a special destination called "Kim's rock". You will see it when you come down here. I would tell you how far, but I am definitely losing weight! Had a great talk with your folks. Love, Bob Will email soon! PS Moms hanging over my shoulder, telling me what to do. Again.

Oh-oh.... A public library, surrounded by 16 other patrons is NOT the best place to be reading some of these comments ... You are indeed well-loved , Kim!

Bless you always
