I Did It!

I must admit that a mix of emotions was going through me this morning as I prepared for the run. I was excited, nervous and anxious all rolled up into one. (I was also tired from The Who concert the night before.)

When we arrived at the park we quickly found my mom, dad, brother (Happy Birthday) and his family who all came equipped with their signs of encouragement. At the starting line there must have been a few thousand people filling the streets. I’m happy to report that I ran the majority of the 5km run with Steve and his cousin Tyler by my side. As I approached the finish line, my family and their signs stuck out from the crowd. There were a few tears but for the most part I managed to keep it together.

I am also proud to report that I had $4,138.25 in sponsors for the fun. In total over $544,000 was raised at the London run for Breast Cancer research. Amazing.

Thank you to all of you for your support.

Dearest Kim:

Just wanted to let you know how "PROUD'" Dad and I are of you. We knew you would do it. I don't know of any goal that you've set that you haven't achieved.

What was really amazing were all the people who had your name on their backs and running for you. You have some very wonderful friends.

I have never seen your father more proud as he held his sign for the world to see, and I had many people come up to me and say how lucky we were. I told them we are truly blessed.

The whole experience was so full of positive energy and very inspirational with the thousands of people that were there.

When you crossed the finish line with Steve and Tyler, I think the Lincoln Clan let out the biggest yell. Andrew and Sean were so happy to see their Mom and Dad.

Chris and I were interviewed by the Fanshaw college reporter, and I think the camera girl was also from there. Chris told her he couldn't have gotten a better birthday present than seeing his sister run for the cure.

Well Kim, you have done an amazing job and all those donations will help others who need it.

You are my "Hero".

Love you always
Mom

Kim,

You had me crying tears of pride when I saw you and Steve striding for the finish line. Proud doesn't seem to be a strong enough word for how I felt, and for how you make us all feel.

It is truly the best birthday present I've ever had.

Thank You.

Love Chris
